In recent months, weāve seen the rise of something newish in the wedding photography world: the rise of agents, managers, representationābasically, agencies for wedding photographers. With new ones popping up, it seems, every few weeks.
Wedding photographers have been riding solo in business for so long, so an AGENT sounds amazing⦠But we got QUESTIONS. What does it actually mean to have an agent? Are we talking about someone helping you secure dream clients and bigger opportunitiesāor just someone to handle contracts/emails/admin? And most importantly, is it actually worth it?
Can an agent free up your time while elevating your business? AND in doing so can this whole agent thing help push the whole wedding photography industry forward toward more professionalism and better work? Or is this just another trend riding the wave of some instagram FOMO?
