• Pelican goes soft. Famous for those hard, indestructible hard cases, but guess what? Pelican is going soft now too. The new Trvl Aegis bag collection features a new 'hybrid' build that Pelican claims gives you the BEST of both worlds: the durability of a hard case with the flexibility/chill of a soft one. • 80s Korean engagement inspo. Yes, it’s a thing.

• VSCO makes you declare your Generative AI use. In yesterdays terms of use update, VSCO now MAKES you be transparent about whether or not generative AI is being used. PS VSCO is a sleeping giant.

• What a wedding photographer looks like according to chat GPT. Now make it even more wedding photographer… See it here.

• Canon’s little cameras that win. Those point and shoot G7x series cameras have been a hit and now Canon is doubling down and upping production of these little guys. We know a sneaky few wedding photographers with these in the bag too.

• Fruit ft detail shots. This week the brand Chloe jumped into the whole shooting details with fruit vibe, and of course nailed it.

• Why hire a photographer? If you needed a reason to justify your job/existence to friends and family, this mega thread discussing why you should hire a photographer went viral this week. Go get yourself a reason.

• Heinz with another lesson in branding. This weeks campaign from Heinz is a branding ‘aha’ moment, as they replaced their logo with food items - the result feels genius.

🗯️ Do you need an AGENT as a wedding photographer?

You are officially ‘represented’
In recent months, we’ve seen the rise of something newish in the wedding photography world: the rise of agents, managers, representation—basically, agencies for wedding photographers. With new ones popping up, it seems, every few weeks.

Wedding photographers have been riding solo in business for so long, so an AGENT sounds amazing… But we got QUESTIONS. What does it actually mean to have an agent? Are we talking about someone helping you secure dream clients and bigger opportunities—or just someone to handle contracts/emails/admin? And most importantly, is it actually worth it?

Can an agent free up your time while elevating your business? AND in doing so can this whole agent thing help push the whole wedding photography industry forward toward more professionalism and better work? Or is this just another trend riding the wave of some instagram FOMO?

To get the answers, we spoke with a bunch of world leading photographers, new and legacy agencies, and the reps in the middle of it all. Here’s what we learned…
