Welcome to LENSEL. Like our friends Joel and Justyna said “Lensel is not just on the pulse in wedding photography, it is the pulse.”

 Here’s what is on today:

  • What Chanel at Lago di Como can teach wedding photographers: How to go all in and do it well.

  • Camera price warnings

  • + inspiration from the wedding world as the season gets going

Now let’s get into it ⬇️

NEWS

Happening this Week

  • An editorial shoot takes things up a notch. The Ferros have done it again. This editorial held at their recent workshop is case and point to why ‘good workshops and editorials’ are great at pushing the industry forward.

  • Do not X-Ray me. NYC photographer Sissilu just dropped the “official DO NOT X-RAY” film storage bag for travelling photographers. Check it out here. Though… you may be better off with this one. Just saying.

  • Reviews rolling in. Reviews of the Peak Design roller bag for photographers are, yes rolling, in and it looks good. Very good. Jump into this quick one here for a good view of it.

  • Another photographers at weddings?? The newly launched Club Grain offers film-only photography at weddings. Not as an add-on or as the main photographer but positioned as a creative layer alongside the main photographer. “We’re not competing with the main photographer. Like a content creator — but with a Contax.” A VERY interesting move in the photography world. What do YOU think? Explore their site here.

  • Profoto’s new spotlight. Profoto continues to up the game for flashes, this time announcing a new, and very cool small spotlight add-on.

  • Tariffs and your new camera gear. These are the companies who have confirmed they are raising prices in the US, and potentially elsewhere. Time to get serious about those early season purchases!

THE BIG IDEA

🪞Chanel goes all in. You should too.

How do you stand out as a wedding photographer?
It’s surprisingly simple. And yes you guess it from the title. GO ALL IN.

Too many wedding photographers try to do everything, BUT get known for nothing.
A dabble in documentary. A foray into fine art. Now something cinematic. One week it’s a wedding, the next it’s maternity, a family shoot, then a brand campaign.

The result? No edge. No vibe. And no brand. Confused shoots and weddings that are just a mishmash of snapshots of the thing infront of them.

SO, what does CHANEL and this weeks campaign drop at the infamous Lake Como have to do with any of this?
