    Now, let’s jump in ⬇️

NEWS

Happening this Week

  • Leica Lightmeter goodness. The new KEKS M-Meter actually looks like it is made for a Leica. Bringing top notch metering to older Leica M cameras, without ruining the look. WINS.

  • Recommend a Bridal Stylist. The WED this week wrote a deep dive into everything bridal stylists. Add this to a list of recommendations to give your couples when they book. Easy tips for more stylish brides. Dive in for a list of great bridal stylish recommendations too.

  • Narrative’s Edit for Free March. If you haven’t yet tried some AI editing help, now is a very good time. Narrative is letting you edit for free all March.

  • Uncommon but make it XL. The camera belt, that every photographer needs/would look better in… now has a larger, XL pouch available. Plus, go spy all of their amazing content.

SOCIALS

🤳🏼 The death of the follower

For so long, the game was: FOLLOWERS. Go build a following, they said.
BUT something big is changing.

Social media has shifted from a follower-based feed to an interest-based algorithm. What does that mean? Your posts don’t get shown to the people who actually follow you. INSTEAD, the algorithm is set up to show your content to whoever the platform thinks will engage the most. It could be no one, it could be everyone. Followers, irrelevant.

Legendary Youtubers Colin & Samir break this down in their latest video, explaining how platforms now prioritize discovery over loyalty. So, instead of chasing (and caring about) followers, photographers should focus on creating content that cuts through and reaches the right people—whether they follow you or not.

hat’s right, you can have content go viral, get seen, whatever, even without a following. Consider the field levelled, again.

We totally recommend watching the Youtube video here for more insight.

IDEAS

đź‘… Good taste will keep you in a job

Photographers, don’t listen to the haters, AI will never take your job.
Because…. your job is not to take photos.

Good, high resolution, standard photos are becoming more and more commoditized. (that means everyone can do it). It’s not just uncle bob to worry about, it’s a loose acquaintance in the aisle, or that precocious 10 years old with a pawn shop R5. Kidding. But not really.

The point is everyone…

INSPO THIS WEEK

⬇️ Just a call to use more GIFs. Easy wins. Like this.

⬇️ Caption is “A chaotic but articulate dance of observation.” Aside from the sweet side ways landscape image here, this post is FULL of life, and just that little bit of chaos.

⬇️ Feel like we didn’t see enough ski brides this season.

⬇️ The eyes. The frames. The ideas. Everything. ohh.ginger pushing the limits in this amazing shoot. A must see this week.
