Happening this Week

• The Flash Stick. The selfie stick we all love to hate could now could now come in clutch with this actually SMART way of using it on a wedding day… laurashepherdimages posted this reel that shows off using it as a long flash handle, and like a normal light stand when on a flat surface.  

• New ZOOM lens winners. Sigma recently announced their new 28-105mm f2.8 lens. Insane focal length coverage. And with many of us finding that we aren’t shooting so much at low low apertures, this lens could be a wedding winner. Here’s a great review.

• Apple and what it believes about photography. Apple’s VP of camera software engineering Jon McCormack stated that photography is “a personal celebration of something that really, actually happened”. Comforting words in the AI photo age? See the full story here.

• AI Retouching in Aftershoot. Aftershoot announced this week that they are adding skin retouching to their AI offering. Coming this November, you can see the details here.
